Visits and security

I count page views by date, page, and approximate country to understand the site’s readership. Country is estimated from your IP address on this server, without sending it to a geolocation service. The counts contain no IP addresses or visitor identifiers and are deleted after 24 months. Temporary IP-based security records expire within 15 minutes.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding readership, keeping the website running, and preventing abuse. IP Geolocation by DB-IP (CC BY 4.0).

Your rights

You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and, where applicable, request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data using the email above. Aggregate counts cannot normally be linked back to you. You can also complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission.
